Judith Rene White

Judith Rene White, lovingly known as Rene, passed away surrounded by her family. Rene was born in Kinder, Louisiana, to John and Louella Crochet. She was incredibly proud of her Cajun roots, which remained an important part of her identity throughout her life. She enjoyed Cajun music, festivals, good food, laughter, and time with the people closest to her. When she wasn’t enjoying those things, there was nowhere she would rather be than at the beach. Rene devoted much of her career to healthcare, particularly caring for the elderly. In her final working years, she delivered meals through Meals on Wheels, a job she truly enjoyed. For Rene, it was never just about delivering a meal. She took time to visit with the people she served, hear their stories, make them laugh, and offer companionship. She had a gift for making people feel seen and valued. Rene was funny, feisty, strong, and fiercely protective. She never hesitated to stand up for the people who mattered to her and rarely worried about what anyone else thought. She laughed often, spoke her mind, and lived life on her own terms. Those who knew her always knew where they stood and knew they could count on her. Her children and grandchildren were among the greatest joys of her life. As their mom and Momo, she showed up for them, cheered them on, worried about them, celebrated their milestones, and defended them through every season of life. Rene is survived by her husband, Barry White; her five children, Liz Perry and her husband, George; Chad Crochet; Missy White; Mindy Duhon and her husband, Matt; and Katy Reagan. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, each of whom carries memories of her forward. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Louella Crochet. Rene’s life was marked by service, strength, humor, and devotion. Whether caring for elderly patients, visiting people through Meals on Wheels, or supporting her own family, she brought warmth and personality to everything she did. Her family will miss her voice, her laugh, her feistiness, her stories, and the comfort of knowing she was there. Her influence will continue through her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. She was deeply cherished, will be greatly missed, and will never be forgotten.
